BOOKLOCKED Presents SHARE SHAYARI and MORE

SHARE SHAYARI AND MORE ,the Booklocked event was conducted on 23rd October 2021 at IMDR. The guests for the event were Mr. Amil Lamba and Ms Parul Sharan, Alumnus, IMDR.

The session started with lighting the lamp by Mr. Anil Lamba Sir.

Anil Lamba Sir is not only an author of best seller books but also a financial literacy activist and an International corporate trainer. He is a practicing CA and holds degrees in commerce, law and doctorate in taxation. His trainings were conducted Internationally with a client list exceeding 1000 large and medium corporations spread over several countries including India, the United States, Europe, Russia, Africa, Middle-East and Far-East. He has conceptualized, and is actively engaged in the implementation of, ‘Financial Literacy for All’, a movement towards creating a financially intelligent India. With over two decades of experience in training and consulting in finance, Dr Anil Lamba has created and developed two series of training videos titled 'Figure out the World of Figures' and ‘Anil Lamba on Finance’, and has done pioneering work in distance education and e-learning. He has also written several books and over 1500 articles. His books, ‘Romancing the Balance Sheet’, ‘Flirting with Stocks', 'Eye on the Bottom Line’ and ‘Financial Affairs of the Common Man' are all bestsellers.

 

Parul Sharan ma’am who is an HR professional, poetess, and a writer. After completing her graduation in English literature from Delhi University, she pursued PGDHR from IMDR, Pune wherein she excelled in academics and was a gold medallist. Having penchant for writing, she had been an avid writer since childhood. Her content received accolades in India as well as Canada. In 2015, she worked in an NGO in HR and management capacity and was also honoured with “Empowered woman of the community” title on International Women’s Day by the community she worked for. Her English poetries were appreciated in “Phoenix poetry workshop”, a platform for poets in Toronto. In 2017, she began working on her first book - “Mera Kona”, which is a collection of 49 Hindi poetries wherein each poem celebrates life. Currently, as a freelance trainer, she gives life skill training to HIV +ve orphans in an NGO named HCDI She also volunteers in an NGO based in Toronto, contributing towards their communication and development.

Initially booklocked was started with the intention to provide a platform to all readers at IMDR. Over time booklocked was evolved into close net community of readers and writers. Today booklocked is a community dedicated to spreading reading and carrying forward a tradition of using words as a medium of motivation and transcending geographic boundaries.

The booklocked event SHARE SHAYARI AND MORE was dedicated to celebrating two spectacular authors and their work. The books written by Anil Lamba sir are novel attempt aimed at creating financial literacy throughout India and hovelling people to get in touch with the world of stocks and shares.

The book Parul Sharan ma’am dwells into the intricate parts of mental health.

The title of event a word play combining 2 diverse topics of life imposes to think not only stock market in financial world but also elements like happiness and peace some say are true stock of life.

The students of IMDR presented a song Jayostute Jayostute.

Anil Lamba sir spoke about his book that is Flirting with stocks and Romancing the Balance Sheet.

Sir shared his personal experiences with the audience.

Questions were asked from the audience and guidance was given by sir.

Parul Sharan ma’am Spoke about her book Mera Kona. She presented some of her work from Mera Kona to explain Mental health.

Audience interacted and it was a wonderful environment.

Rasika ma’am informally thanked Anil sir and Parul mam for being there for the booklocked session.

Further Rasika ma’am also invited Parikshit sir to present Parul Ma’am’s book to Anil sir.

At the end of the session there was a Quiz competition between 4 teams judged by Anil sir, after which the event successfully came to an end.
