Life at IMDR
The Deccan Education Society’s heritage of self-reliance and self-renewal underlies the
Self Driven Learning System (SDLS) at IMDR. The students take responsibility for their
own learning. Along with this, the basic norms of academic performance are maintained.
This includes both curricular and co-curricular activities. Most of the activities on campus
are Student-driven.
The purpose is to create an opportunity for students to experience freedom of thought,
expression and action and make them lWess dependent on faculty and the system for their
learning. Thus, SDLS focuses on developing students to take charge of their own learning
and become competent performers who contribute to their own growth, the growth of the
system as well as the progress of the society.
