Placements and the Holy Dip! - December 2007

As has been the tradition the placement season at IMDR started in the month of November and the current batches of PGDM, PGDIT and PGDHR had gone through their fair share of excitements and anxieties before ending up at prestigious organizations across the country.

What more? Well at IMDR, the real story starts with the placements. As has been the long kept tradition, all those students who got placed were dumped (literally thrown) into the famous (now infamous??) placement pond and greeted with rotten eggs, mud and all the filth that one can imagine. What is worse is that after this ‘dirt-treatment' each one of them has to find his or her way to reach home.

Imagine getting drenched in stinking dirt, getting mercilessly rejected for a ‘lift to home' by fellow mates and reluctantly ending up at the nearest rickshaw stand and convincing the driver to take you home! You could call it gross, but it was fun!

Sham-E-Tamanna 2007 - February 2007

Shaam meri nahi, shaam teri nahi
Jo Tamanna karega wahi paayega
Koi kuch bhi kahe, aur mein chup rahu
Ye salika mujhe jaane kab aayega
Kya mere ghar mein kal bhi andhera hoga
Raat ke baad suna hai ki savera hoga
Aaj do lamha mile, dil ki baate kehelo
Waqt beraham hai , kal mera nah tera hoga!

A digression from the usual clutter of assignments and case studies – that was what Sham- E – Tamanna was all about. It was an evening that goaded the poet in everyone - a perfect balance of entertainment, spirituality, patriotism, love and many intriguing surprises that took everyone through a joy ride.

The event was hosted by Nitin Gupta, Merajul Khan and Shampa Chaturvedi in addition to Jay Shah working closely with the camera man.

Chief Guest for the evening was Janaab Aneesh Shakeel Ahmed Chishti
